nine days
So much has happened in the last few weeks. Congratulations to my cousin Catherine and her new husband Ben. Corinne and I attended their wedding in Atlanta and it was beautiful. It was so great to see all of my family that I have been away from for so long. I also got a chance to see the rest of my family at a dinner my Mom planned the next night.
The weekend was almost flawless besides the baseball sized rock we took in the Xterra's windshield on I-85 on the way there. My insurance gladly gave me the name of a glass repair firm, but didn't shell out a thin dime to replace the windshield. I hate insurance! Corinne and I felt very lucky that we got away with only the damage to the car. The rock could have just as easily broken through the glass completely and injured or even killed us.
I've been flying the planes a lot more and am getting pretty good at it. Corinne shot some footage with her digital camera and I have been editing it together in iMovie. Stay tuned and I'll have it up in a while. For now you can check out this clip.
Today, I left work for my nine day vacation! The X is all packed to the brim and we leave at first light. I hope to make it to Sandusky, Ohio on Lake Erie by tomorrow evening. We plan to spend Sunday at Cedar Point riding the world record roller coasters.
Monday will mark my 25th year on this earth. It's been quite a ride! We will take a look around central Ohio and head down to my friend Mitchell's in Cincinnati. Our good friend Josh will join us there and we'll celebrate and watch Phish play on Letterman. Tuesday we'll all hang out in Cincinnati, possibly riding the world's longest wooden roller coaster at King's Island.
Wednesday, we head over to Noblesville, Indiana to the Deer Creek amphitheater. We had a blast there last Summer and are really psyched to catch Phish there for their last shows at the venue. We stay for 2 shows there and head up for 2 more Friday and Saturday at Alpine Valley in East Troy, Michigan. Those will be the last four shows of Phish's Summer tour and the last four shows I expect I'll ever see them play. I plan on making sure they are memorable.
